Eeek. Another scary consumer report: Popular lipsticks test positive for lead.

According to the article, leaded lipsticks include "L'Oreal Colour Riche 'True Red,' L'Oreal Colour Riche 'Classic Wine,' Cover Girl Incredifull Lipcolor 'Maximum Red' and Dior Addict 'Positive Red.'"

I tend to buy really cheap lipsticks (I steadfastly refuse to pay more than $5 a tube, $7 max), so none of these are in my medicine cabinet or makeup bag.

I guess that's good...

But then again, if the pricer non-designer cosmetic manufacturers (as opposed to the really pricey stuff) are using lead, what kinda toxic gunk is in the cheaper stuff?

Hmmm, maybe a color like 'Mercury red' is meant literally? Eeeeuw.Kiss of death? Sticking it to consumers? Bleh.
